Welcome to Kim Hackworth Photography! I’m really excited to photograph your family/children. Photography has always had a place in my heart. When my children were born, that place grew! Not only does it capture all the little moments in time but it allows you to connect your present with your past.
My middle son looks exactly like his grandfather did when he was a child. This was never more apparent than the day I saw a picture of him standing by his sister crying. I had a picture of my son looking the exact same way! I have another picture that I found one day of me during one of my pregnancies. I was sitting in a chair making some weird face. When I saw that picture, I realized that I looked exactly like my aunt in a picture I have seen of her making the same face and she was pregnant at the time of that picture too!
To me, that is what it is all about…making those little family connections. It’s one thing for someone to tell you about them but it is quite another to see and experience it for yourself. That is another reason I promote printed products instead of digital. Digital products tend to live and die on your hard drive. You get busy and don’t ever get around to printing them. Trust me! I have thousands of photos that I need to print!! What happens when that hard drive fails or technology changes and you can’t access your photos anymore? Those photos may never see the light of day. Think of all the photos that have been passed down through the generations. I want you to have photos to pass down to your children and grandchildren, too.
Even though we are taking photos today and you will hopefully have years to enjoy them, these photos are for your children’s children to help them make their own connections back to you. I look forward to working with you and your family to create your own unique heirlooms.

Below are the photos that really made me see how much my children look like their grandparents.
